How to avail of TextaParent:
- First you must register your details.
- You register by clicking on the 'Register' tab and inserting the following information:
- Principal's first and last name
- Roll number
- School name
- Preferred e-mail address
- Mobile telephone number
- Your desired password - must be at least 6 characters long, e.g. 12stone4
- You then need to buy text message SMS units from IPPN.
- Calculate the number of families in your school and estimate the number of times you intend to send them a text message this year.
- Then choose the amount of advance text message SMS units you wish to purchase.

| €30 = 750 SMS units | €60 = 1500 SMS units | €90 = 2250 SMS units |
| €120 = 3000 SMS units | For extra SMS units multiply in units of 750 / €30 |
- Make cheque payable to 'TextaParent' for the relevant amount.
- Send Roll Number and cheque to TextaParent, Glounthaune, Co. Cork.
- When your cheque has been received you will be notified by text message and by e-mail that your account is in credit and available for immediate use.
- Additional SMS units can be purchased at any time in the future.
How TextaParent actually works:
- Enter your Roll number
- Enter your password.
- Click 'Log-in'
- You then enter (or copy and paste) the list of mobile phone numbers to whom you wish to send your bulk text message.
- Then type in the message that you wish to send to the desired recipients.
- Double check the detail of your message for accuracy and comprehension
- Click 'Send message'. Your message is now sent and will be delivered within a few minutes.
- SMS units are automatically deducted and you will see the balance of SMS units remaining on your account
- You have the option to set up a personal on-line telephone book. Click on 'Contacts' for details.
- If you lose or forget your password, click 'Forgot Password' and follow instructions.
- Your password will be sent to your mobile phone and to your e-mail address.
